I just adopted my second guinea pig, a big 2 year old boy named Donatello. We got him from Small Angel Rescue and he's adorable. We've had the other guinea pig, Hope, for about three months and she was getting lonely. She also doesn't really enjoy being touched so I was hoping a more outgoing guinea pig would bring her out of her shell. We have to keep them separated for awhile but they like each other already and they're adorable. I have pics of them but I need to upload them and I can't find the cord so, once I do, I'll show them to all of you. |

| back from break |
[Jan. 16th, 2007|09:01 am] |
So school is starting again and I need to leave on the shuttle in 15 minutes. Today is the first day I have any classes and, since I don't know where the room is and I can't remember what the shuttle schedule is, I need to take the 9:30 shuttle which means I get there an hour early for class. I'm hoping there is, in fact, a 10:00 shuttle but I don't want to risk it today.
I keep thinking that we're coming back from summer for a new year of school for some reason. It doesn't feel like we were just on winter break. I don't know if it's because the break seemed so long or if it's juse wishful thinking that I had a whole year before I had to get a job, but it's confusing.
Break wasn't too horrible though it was boring. I still don't have a car so I was basically confined to the house unless one of my friends wanted to drive 45 minutes to Cambridge and pick me up. We all did go out a few times and I actually saw Kelly R., Kelly H, Julia, Lisa, and Britni. I hadn't seen any of them since graduation for the most part. That was fun. And Ed came down alot more than expected so I wasn't about to kill myself. I'm glad to be back at school though.
Oh!!! And I got my wedding dress! Mother, Jessica, and I went to look for dresses one Saturday this winter, just looking. The first place we stopped didn't seem promising because I'd been there for prom dresses before and they had been rude to me. But the woman was exceptionally nice this time, more than likely because she knew I was looking for a wedding dress. Our budget was nill and we didn't plan on buying anything, but I tried on five dresses. The last one was freaking awesome and I had to have it. It was double the price of the other dresses, nearly $1400 but mother actually let me get it! That's like 1/3 of the budget for the whole wedding but we're cutting corners everywhere possible so at least I can have a nice dress.
It's so pretty. It's strapless and "candlelight" white. It's a corset top, which is awesome, and it's made of layers of lace, which sounds hideous but is great. It looks so pretty! I could go to the Renn Fest in it if I wanted. We got a great veil too...another $125 and it will be in around July. I'm so excited! I just need to get all my bridesmaids in for their measurements!! |

| | depressed | ] | I may be the stupidest person in the world. I've been home barely a day and I'm already ridiculous sad. I was fine last night but this morning, when I woke, I teared up because I usually wake up with Ed and I won't be able to wake up next to him for four months. And then I got sad when I made a ham sandwich...because we had ham sandwiches last time we were here together. It's so pathetic! I can't just burst into tears randomly all summer long! Gah! |

[May. 13th, 2006|06:46 pm] |
It's safe now...since I'm home. I can finally talk about Isobel! :) Isobel is my Dove Campbell's Russian dwarf hamster. She's adorable. I got her a couple weeks ago but I couldn't talk about her since I was living at the dorms and wasn't allowed to own any pets. Hehe... She's pretty used to me now but doesn't really like me that much yet. I'm too impatient. But she doesn't bite me, mostly, and she'll climb up on my hand, take treats from me, and let me pet her. Here are some pictures of her. :) They might be a little big so I'll put them behind a cut. ( Read more... ) |

Well, I'm home for the summer. Great... I'm already depressed. I hate coming home. My mother bitches at me nearly constantly...now she's complaining that my wedding is going to cost her money...about every five seconds. I barely get to see Ed, since he lives in PA and we're both going to be working full time...and he works nights.
I'm unpacking now. I have nowhere to put anything that I've brought home. :P
I need to keep busy this summer. So far I haven't found a job so I'm working at Bags Aloft a couple days a week I guess. I definitely need more time than that, having to save up money for all of next year, an apartment at the end of the school year, and a wedding... I think I'll apply at Pier One.
Any suggestions on how to keep busy this summer? I'm going to be selling books on Half.com for some extra money and I'm looking for some vector or graphic art stuff that I can possibly do to boost my portfolio and to make a bit extra. |

| Updating?! |
[Mar. 28th, 2006|01:09 am] |
Perhaps I'll start updating my livejournal again...probably not...
In any case, I've been having fun lately. Spring break is recently over and, overall, it was a blast. Ed and I stayed at his house for the first half and mine for the second. We went to three zoos...ZooAmerica, the National Zoo, and the Salisbury Zoo. ZooAmerica was my favorite because they had grey wolves there and you could get pretty close to them. The pair that we saw up close had caught and killed a duck and they were playing with it. One of them buried it in the corner. I bet they have a bunch of ducks buried all over the place. The wolves played with eachother and you could tell which one was the alpha...though I'm not sure if it was male or female. We also saw two black bears there. One was totally crazy and kept running his nose against the fence, even though he had a huge place to run around in. The other bear was gigantic and lazy. There was a really loud lynx and some cute little otters. The other two zoos were cool too. We saw the new baby giant panda at the National Zoo. I adopted the red panda species for $65, part of my birthday present. I think I'll post some pictures of the zoos and such in a bit.
My birthday was Friday of spring break and my family and I went out to Ruby Tuesday's. It was nice and all but they didn't card me so I felt slighted. Ed and I went to Olive Garden that Sunday though and they did card me there. :) I think Leah's having a party for Jeff and I this weekend since Ross can't be there.
As for school...same old, same old. We have to schedule soon and I'm pissed off. There's an awesome class on Tudor and Stewart England and I want to take it! I'm obsessed with the Tudors. But it conflicts with another class that I want and have to take. I could take a different section of that class but only with a teacher that I REALLY don't want to have...so I can take the class I will love but take a shit class with it or I can sacrafice Tudors for a good design class...and by good I mean easy.
Ed's going to live with Pat and Trent next year and I think that will be nifty. I don't know if I have anyone to live with yet but at least Ed will be nearby.
I should be doing homework....
Here are some pictures I took tonight! :)

[Jul. 9th, 2005|10:37 am] |
People should go here and sign up for this free ipod. It's legitimate...I've read about the site on various news sites...it works... You have to sign up for an offer, but there's always a few offers that are trial subscriptions and such and you can always cancel them before they charge you anything...so it really is free. :)
